Job description

At Rise Multi Academy Trust, we believe that strong schools change lives and strong leadership makes that possible. We are seeking an exceptional Director of Finance to join our Extended Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and visionary finance leader to provide strategic financial direction across a successful and ambitious Trust. Working closely with our Co-CEOs, Trustees, Headteachers and senior leaders, you will ensure that financial strategy, educational priorities and organisational ambitions are aligned to deliver the very best outcomes for children and young people.

As Director of Finance, you will lead all aspects of the Trust's financial strategy, planning, governance and compliance. You will provide expert advice and challenge at the highest level, ensuring that resources are used effectively, sustainably and in ways that maximise impact.

You will oversee financial planning and reporting, audit and risk management, payroll and pensions, capital investment and financial systems, while leading and developing a high-performing finance team. You will also play a key role in supporting Trust growth, organisational development and long-term financial sustainability.

We are looking for a collaborative and strategic finance professional who can combine technical excellence with inspirational leadership.

You will bring:

  • Significant senior financial leadership experience within a complex organisation.
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong experience of strategic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial governance, compliance and risk management.
  • The ability to analyse complex information and translate it into clear strategic advice.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to public service, educational excellence and delivering value for money.

Experience within the education or public sector is desirable, although we welcome applications from outstanding leaders with transferable skills and experience

As part of the Rise family, you will join a Trust that values collaboration, continuous improvement and the contribution of every individual. We are ambitious for our pupils, our communities and our colleagues, and we invest in developing talented people who share our vision and values.

This is an opportunity to shape the financial future of a growing Trust and make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people across our communities.

We look forward to hearing how your skills, experience and leadership can help us continue to flourish and succeed together.
