Use AI career tools without losing accuracy or privacy

Give the minimum necessary context

Remove identity numbers, full addresses, signatures, references' contact details, confidential customer names, access credentials, and medical or financial information before using an AI tool. Share only the vacancy and experience needed for the task. Check the product's retention and training settings before uploading a document.

Separate transformation from invention

AI is useful for organizing, shortening, translating, comparing, and generating practice questions. It must not invent employers, dates, qualifications, salary history, achievements, or metrics. Keep a source résumé and compare every generated claim against it. Mark uncertain facts for verification rather than allowing the system to make them sound definite.

Review translations for meaning

A fluent translation can still change seniority, negation, legal status, product names, or numbers. Preserve names, dates, currencies, and technical terms. Ask a proficient speaker to review high-stakes material, especially contracts, regulated professions, immigration documents, and safety responsibilities.

Defend against instructions inside documents

A vacancy, résumé, or webpage can contain text that tries to redirect an AI system. Treat imported content as untrusted reference material, not as instructions. Your task and privacy rules should remain fixed. Never follow a document's request to reveal prompts, credentials, hidden data, or unrelated records.

Use AI output as a draft. Read it aloud, remove generic claims, restore your voice, and verify the final application yourself. You remain responsible for what is submitted to an employer.
