Job Description:Parsons is seeking an experienced Traffic Systems Engineer to support the design review, coordination, integration, testing, and construction supervision of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic control systems, and airport roadway traffic management infrastructure for a major Airport, Airfield, and Infrastructure Development Project. The successful candidate will ensure that all traffic systems are designed, implemented, and commissioned in accordance with project requirements, international standards, airport operational requirements, and stakeholder expectations.What You'll Be DoingReview and coordinate the design of traffic management and ITS systems for airport landside infrastructure.Ensure compliance with project specifications, local authority requirements, and international standards.Review engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and design submissions.Support value engineering initiatives and system optimization.Review ITS designs including CCTV, Variable Message Signs (VMS), Automatic Traffic Counters (ATC), traffic signal systems, incident detection, and traffic monitoring systems.Coordinate integration with airport operational systems.Ensure communication networks and system interfaces are fully coordinated.Coordinate with Civil, Roads, Electrical, ICT, Security, Airfield, Mechanical, and Architectural disciplines.Review multidisciplinary interfaces using BIM and digital coordination platforms.Resolve design clashes and technical conflicts.Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and technical submissions.Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved designs.Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning activities.Coordinate with airport authorities, transport agencies, consultants, contractors, and utility providers.Support approvals and technical workshops.Facilitate resolution of stakeholder comments.Witness factory and site acceptance tests.Verify system functionality and operational readiness.Support integrated systems testing.Monitor contractor compliance with project quality requirements.Participate in inspections and audits.Support continuous improvement initiatives.Prepare engineering reports, design review comments, progress updates, and technical recommendations.Maintain accurate project documentation.Ensure compliance with airport HSE requirements.Participate in constructability and safety reviews.Promote safe engineering practices.What Required Skills You'll BringBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.Minimum 8 years of experience in Traffic Systems or ITS Engineering.Experience on airport, transportation, highways, or major infrastructure projects.Experience in design review, construction supervision, and commissioning.Strong knowledge of ITS and traffic management systems.Familiarity with airport operational requirements.Knowledge of BIM coordination.Strong analytical and communication skills.What Desired Skills You'll Bring:Professional Engineer registration.Experience on international airport projects.Knowledge of ICAO, ITS, and transportation standards.Experience under FIDIC contracts.Parsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
