Job description

Learning Support Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (based on experience)

Pay range including fringe allowance

FTE: LSA: £25,525 - £26,312 HLTA: £26,718 - £28,871

Actual: LSA: £17,722.94 - £18,269.95HLTA: £18,551.28 - £20,046.19

Hours: 30 hours per week (term time plus non-pupil days - 39 working weeks)

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid break

Hilltop Junior School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and flexible Learning Support Assistant / HLTA to join our friendly and hard-working team.

The successful candidate must:

  • be educated to NVQ level 2 or 3 in learning/support/early years, NNEB or equivalent qualification/experience
  • have a minimum qualification of English and Maths at GCSE level C or above (or equivalent)
  • have experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting
  • put the needs of our children at the forefront of all you do
  • demonstrate patience, calmness and flexibility at all times
  • have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to children, parents and other adults
  • have a passion for developing individual learning and encouraging pupils to achieve their best
  • be a team player
  • have some knowledge of strategies to support behaviour

All staff employed as HLTA will be expected to have or gain a formal HLTA qualification within 18 months of successfully completing their probation period
