Great Western Academy opened in brand new, state-of-the-art facilities in North Swindon in September 2018. The Academy is heavily oversubscribed in all years and has a flourishing sixth form to match. We are seeking an approachable and committed person, ideally with previous experience in a busy school office, to join our friendly and supportive existing Office team.

The primary responsibility will be to act as the first point of contact at GWA, along with your counterpart receptionist, undertaking all aspects of reception duties, including receiving visitors to the school, answering the phones, dealing with queries and taking messages, supporting students with queries and first aid. The role will also involve general clerical and administration tasks.

The ideal candidate should provide good customer service, with excellent ICT and communication skills. We are seeking an individual who is well-organised, efficient, flexible, calm, friendly, motivated and passionate about providing an excellent support service to our pupils, parents, staff and visitors. Training and development are provided and encouraged within the school.

Additional benefits of working at GWA include:

Excellent CPD opportunities

State-of-the-art facilities

Free parking

Health and Wellbeing Support Service

Local Government Pension Scheme

Cycle to work scheme

Applications should be submitted by 9am Wednesday 26th August 2026 and we may close the vacancy early if we find that we have enough suitable candidates, so please don't delay in applying. Interviews will take place shortly after this.
